Patchwork Goals

Yesterday I felt in the mood for a new project.  I decided to go for my rainbow squares which have actually been waiting for nearly a year to be worked with but it still felt fresh and new.  I laid the squares out I love it.  It's so different from the last rainbow quilt I made! It should be larger too.

I have the rows waiting to be sewn.  I am pretty good at keeping things straight when I have them put into piles like this.  I am hoping to get one or two sewn each day for the next week or two.  It might take me longer and that is okay.

I also need to mop the floor so I can baste my Horizon.  Still.

Bad Phone Photos

Because I am too busy/lazy to take photos with my camera.

My thread arrived for my Horizon quilt.
I like the colors I picked.
Thankfully my order came with a color booklet so it will be easier to pick colors next time.

I am caught up on my Farm Girl quilt blocks.
I had a hell of a time with the canning jars.
It turned out 6.5 x 7.5 which is a whopping inch I had to figure out what to do with.
HATE THAT.
All the other blocks have turned out as close to 6.5" square as a non-perfectionist can get.

Last night I stayed up until 11:58 getting my Snapshots block assembled.
It felt great to sew and I didn't drag butt this morning so it worked out.
I need to carve out a little more 'me' time so I feel less homicidal.

The Strangest Thing

...just happened.
I just ordered the Lizbeth thread I will need to hand quilt my Horizon quilt.  I think it's the only way I will be able to get it quilted this summer.  So I just decided to go for it.

I am almost done with my Miss Kate quilt.  I have 11 flowers left to quilt in the border then I will be ready to put on the binding.  Also throughout the hand quilting of this quilt I wondered if it would make any different to close the binding before I hand quilt it.  It doesn't seem like it would hurt, and it would keep my border from fraying, though I haven't had much trouble with that.

Lots to learn still.  I think 9 weeks to hand quilt this thing wasn't bad.  I ended up taking a few 1-2 week breaks throughout this time period though. And I lost my thimble and fear the puppy found it.

LOTS TO LEARN

Blocks

I have this week's Farm Girl block done.

Autumn Star had me reconsidering the 6.5" block option I am going with.
Lots of little seams to press open!
Lots of little points getting chopped off.

My Baby Chick block was fun and it's just plain adorable.

So now there are three.

I also put my May Flower block together for my calendar BOM.

I feel like starting something new, but I need to quilt my Horizon quilt, and finish quilting my Miss Kate.  I hear that WIPs are okay voice in my head again.  I'm going to fight it.
(I do not actually hear voices in my head)

Success

I did it.
I got the table runners finished and mailed out today.

To celebrate we went for ice cream.
My spoon said 'awesome'.
Very appropriate.
Now I can get back to the Horizon quilt.
I'll have to mop.

Little Things

I have been finishing up little things.

A set of placemats for a wedding gift.

A table runner for a Mother's Day gift.
I have the binding left on another runner then I need to get these in the mail!

Quilting Today

I have a few small gifts going right now.  I need to quilt them up today, or maybe tomorrow.  Soon though for sure.

I made my first Farm Girl block.  This is going to be fun.  Are you sewing along?
