A Complete Line-Up

The most incredible thing happened last week.  I woke up one morning and found a text from my friend Miranda, who had found someone, via the great destash hashtag on IG, that was willing to sell her Cotton Blossoms and Simple Abundance fabric.  The two Bonnie and Camille lines I've never been able to find.  I cannot remember how it came up in conversation with Miranda that I was always keeping an eye out for them, but apparently she was keeping an eye out for me since that talk and she found it.  Isn't that amazing?
So Miranda gave the woman my email and I bought them and yesterday after a very busy day I checked the mail and they had arrived!

I now have a layer cake and five fat quarters of Cotton Blossoms

A layer cake and four fat quarters of Simple Abundance!

I love layer cakes because they are so versatile, and I cannot wait to get started!!!
And now I will have a complete collection of the fabric lines of Bonnie and Camille.... Does that make me a groupie or something?

Happy Go Lucky

I had leftovers so I made a wall hanging too.

Scrumptious

I also made a baby quilt from this one.

April Showers-this one doesn't live with me....

But I do have a table runner.

These are the ones that live here and make me happy.

I just ordered my fabric to make my Miss Kate quilt.(you can read more about that here)

And my Daysail BOM is going to be fun all year long.

I'll keep you updated on my Cotton Blossoms and Simple Abundance adventures!

Do you collect certain fabric designers fabrics?  Tell me I'm not alone.
(Once day I'll confess to all of the Kate Spain quilts I have made and the many Fig Tree Co quilts that I have made too)

I Might Quilt

Today we got a new hot water heater.
The plumber was coming at 9:30... school time.
My kid can't do school with anything being installed/fixed.
So we started school early.
So we finished school early.
I'm not distracted by guys installing/fixing things.
I started sewing my rows.
I finished my top before lunch.
The hot water heater was done being installed before lunch.

Nate wanted to snuggle under it, so he gave it a test run.

Bonnie saw a quilt on the floor, so she went to hold it down.

We are off to Lego Club, then the Hubs' promotion ceremony.

Maybe.
Maybe.
I might get the backing sewn tonight.
Then Maybe.
I can get it basted tomorrow.
And if that happens I might quilt this weekend.

Solids and Single Parenting.

I just placed a mammoth order of Kona solids.  I am so thankful that I can use my Kona card to find the shades I want.  And I am so glad that Fabric.com sells 1/2 yard cuts.

At the beginning of the new year I sat down with my significant stash of precuts and hatched a plan.... actually LOTS of quilt plans.

I had patterns in mind for most, so I finally did the math and figured out what I would need for yardage.

The fabric plans are for some pretty delicious stuff...

Boathouse
Miss Kate
Horizon
Daydream
Vintage Happy
Blitzen
Kiss Kiss
Mirabelle

I am really looking forward to each of them!
However, I will be a single parent for half of the year, so I am going to have to take what I can get as far as sewing time goes.
And as far as my quilting allowance goes, I'm plotting these projects, and after these are completed I am going to spend the rest of the year making scrappy things. (I swear the strings in my can are reproducing in there..like rabbits.)

Oh! If you were wondering, the monster's new quilt is still sitting.
Waiting.
Probably for this weekend.

My Weekend of Sewing Ends

Today after church I got to work on finishing my blocks.

I finally managed to get them done!

I'm so thankful the guys kept each other occupied.  Though they hung around nearby today, playing with Legos.

Laying out the blocks took me FOREVER.  I just wasn't feeling random.  So I had to lay it out....

And by the time I had it figured out my eyes were bugging out.  I just managed to get it laid out before dinner.

I had a few rows sewn before Downton Abbey started, then banged out the rest after.  The rows are all sewn and pressed, but I only managed to get 5 of the 11 sewn together.

Maybe tomorrow after school, before karate, between loads of laundry and making dinner and vacuuming.  Maybe.

It was a good weekend anyhow!

Four Patches

This morning after eggs and coffee I got started on my four patches.

I chain pieced alotta strip sets.

Of course after the great satisfaction of getting them sewn... they have to be pressed.

Then the cutting... oh the cutting.

Luckily I was reminded when my mother-in-law told me she was watching Cedar Cove, that I still had some episodes left to watch also!

After I ran out of Cedar Cove I watched a boatload of One Tree Hill.
I got some of the blocks made and pressed.

I still have a decent number left to make.

Tomorrow.

'Night!

A Weekend Quest

I decided this afternoon that I am going to do my darnedest to get a quilt made this weekend.  It's been a long time since I have got anything done, and it's been forever since I made a quilt in just a couple of days.
After getting my chores done today I washed up the fabrics for the monster's new quilt. After dinner I got the quilt cut out.  I'm in good shape so far.

Wish me luck!

Block two had lots of cutting!

But it is super cute and I love it!

Let Them Eat Cake

...And beef and snow peas.  I didn't actually abandon my dinner making duty last night.

I cooked.  I even did all the dishes.

After running to the store to get a cone for the pup who was spayed yesterday, I got to work.

I have missed this!  Having someone else plan the fabric and the pattern and breaking it up into a little bit of work each month.... I really love it.

I got the first block sewn.

I really hope I find time today to make block two.

Petting

This is the most exciting thing that has arrived in the mail in a long long time!

I've been busy petting it, and shrieking.  I cannot wait to make blocks 1 and 2!  I might abandon my dinner making duties and ignore my family all evening so I can start on them!

Three Weeks Later

Finally!
Last night I got both of my apple rows completed (minus the white sashing, I need more white).

After I finished these, I pulled my scraps for the next row.  I sure don't have much in the way of reds.  Pulling fabrics for these apples was really tough.  I might need to get a fat quarter or two to get me through the rest of this project.

Row Four... Still

I did not manage to get my rows done the other week.

I was busy getting ready for a little trip (and cleaning up after a canine stomach bug that went through our pack).  Then last week was spent in The Sunshine State loving up on more potent sunshine, palm trees, green grass, flowers and Disney magic.

Now I'm back to reality, and I'm behind two weeks on my row along.  I have made some progress on the apples.  But Imagonnahavta get my hiney in gear because I hate being behind.
