Blending in...

Here is something that almost had me tinkling my pants. My 2 1/2 year old's attempt to hide from mama. I haven't a clue where he got the idea. But it was inventive and hilarious.
I LOVE this kid!
Nothing exciting to report on the quilting front. Binding the king in the evenings and quilting the pink and orange squares quilt ( It still needs a name?!)

BASTED

The hubs and I basted 2 quilts tonight. This Christmas quilt and...

...the pink and orange quilt. I also basted my student's quilt tonight. 3 quilts on the floor basting, my knees and back and boobs don't appreciate it.

August starts in a few days, and I am starting to feel the itch to get some Christmas gifts underway and out of the way.

Fingers crossed, I created another quilt addict...

First quilting class for my new student went really well. She finished her top! I think she liked it. And she mentioned she has lots of ideas already!
And just look at her points!

Today's Top

Just finished up this top and wanted to share because it makes me so giddy! I am going to ponder adding a border for a few days....

Pucker Up Baby!

Just pulled this one out of the wash! Its all crinkly and bright and happy. Its hanging up and totally changes the feel of the living room. I would make a corny joke about when life gives you lemons.... but I'll spare you. Your welcome :)

The backing is from Kate Spain's Verna line.
Love*Love*Love
I'm rolling on Melissa's quilt. It is yet to have a catchy name..... I'm open to suggestions... please...

Choo-Choo

I finished up this little guy's choo-choo quilt last night, and just pulled it from the dryer. If you have a 2 year old boy I'm sure you spend most of your day confirming choo-choo, car, and bug sightings. When I am in the car alone (hardly ever!) I find myself yelling choo-choo and pointing.... yeah it was a shocking moment the first time this occurred.

All of this fabric is from Walmart.... so it is a quilt approved for vomit. I bought these fabric while my husband was away and I was bored. I had the top finished within days. But once the Hubs came home I put it on the back burner.
Lemons and Limes is in the final stretch of quilting. I would be a lot further if I hadn't been doing it the hard way, stuffing the whole quilt back and forth through the throat. When I realized I was being an idiot, I had to take a small collect myself break. But, I think I can get the binding on today.
This is my latest mail excitement! Having birthdays can mean LOTS of fun stuff in the mail! This loot is courtesy of piefixeseverything... Thanks Erin! I have a quilt coming home today from the The Finishing Touch, and two orders of fabric coming soon :) I'll be running to the mailbox today!

Saturday School

My newest pupil has her first lesson today. I am hoping it goes as well as Jamie's lessons. I like doing this expedited lesson for the first quilt. I'll show her everything but I'll help her get to a finished quilt before she gets frustrated. Hopefully with me doing the ironing and pinning for her, she will get her top done in no time.
I am happy with her fabric choices. I am deeply in love with that gray fabric. Seriously in love!
Not a ton of quilting happening... I've got other things going on. But, the Lemons and Limes quilt is almost quilted.

Lemons and Limes

I used the pattern in Spring 2010, Quilts and More.
Bought the fabrics in Tucson when I was visiting KT.
Cut it out yesterday, started piecing last night.
Finished the top just now.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE

There will be sewing..

The sewing room is BACK! It is scary how fast this room is thrown back into sewing mode. I love how it feels to have a fresh tidy area to work in. Nothing is trashed yet, the floor is clean and safe, it just gives me warm fuzzy feelings.

The bed isn't heaping yet...

The dresser is usable
I am going to work on my sampler today. Then I need to get things ready for my next pupil. This is the fabric she and I picked out for her first quilt. I LOVE that gray fabric. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
And new on my to do list is this kit my sister bought 1/2 off on Fat Quarter Shop. I am excited to use this Rachel Griffith kit. I love her blog.

The hoarder in me....

..screams, 'BUY ALL THE PYREX!!' But the part of me that watches Hoarders say, 'Do you want to end up like one of those people??'
So I bought 3 pieces. I thought that was a decent compromise, because I wanted to buy 43 pieces.
And I found an awesome pitcher that will have lemonade in it for the next 3 months somewhat constantly. So I'm happy :) Yay antique stores with thrift store prices!!!
